After further insight to the lyrics from A Little Bit Longer I feel as though the song could be about somebody that is sick and in the hospital. I may have read into the words a little bit too much. Taking it in a new direction the lines "got the news today, doctor said i had to stay" my just mean that the writer got news that he is sick and the doctors may not know what is wrong so he has to stay or that they have to do treatment so that he can get better.

The lines "waitin on a cure, none of them are sure" probably refers to some sort of illness that there is no cure for. Perhaps cancer or maybe diabetes, I heard the writer has type 1 diabetes. But perhaps when he was in the hospital the doctors didn't know exactly what was wrong with the writer so that could explain why no one is sure. Yet it could still refer to the fact that there is no real cure for the writers disease.

To further my argument that they song may be written about the writers diabetes the line"All the highs and lows are done" may be a reference to the sugar highs and lows that diabetics have to deal with. However it could refer to the emotional rollercoaster the writer has been on since discovering that he has an illness.
